Artist Statement

I examine the mechanisms of trauma and its effects on cognitive and anatomical processes. My work offers psychological views of the internal, which imply the disruptive/destructive implications of internalized violence.

My recent work has moved beyond the preoccupation with the actor of violence, the violent event, and the immediate affective (emotional) response or condition.

I am interested in the manifestations of trauma as haunting and repetition. My work involves the use of horror elements and I am exploring the use of art-horror as a feminist act.
